Link to CCG AustraliaCCG is recognised worldwide as a major manufacturer of specialised cable glands
and junction boxes, employing over 140 people.
CCG revolutionised the cable
gland industry when it launched its much acclaimed ingress and corrosion proof
Posi range, closely followed by the innovative patented corrosion guard cable
gland. With these unique products CCG built an enviable reputation in Australia,
Middle East, United Kingdom, Hong Kong, Malaysia and South Africa.
CCG's policy of building in safety and designing out complexity has lead to
discerning engineers worldwide recognising CCG's products as time saving and
waste reducing. The simplicity of the Captive Cone and Built-in Seals means that
wherever CCG products are installed, the simplest of instructions ensure that
all parts are correctly fitted. This concept is important for projects in the
developing world, where semi-skilled labour may be used.
Within Australia, CCG has supplied products to the following prestigious
projects:
- BHP Slab & Plate Plant, Port Kembla
- BHP Sulphate of Ammonia by-products
- CRA Westcliff
- BHP DRI Project, Pilbara, WA
- Western Mining, Leinster Gold Mine
- Mt Newman Mining, Newman
- BHP Minerals, Beenup Mineral Sands
- Gladstone Port Authority
- Transfield Engineering
- Underwater Video
- Griffin Coal
- Mt Isa Mines
CCG Australia Pty Ltd is ISO 9002 accredited and our range of products have
British, European CENELEC, I.E.C., South African and Australian Standards where
applicable.
Information necessary for correct gland selection
- Environmental conditions (e.g. hazardous areas, indoor or outdoor
application).
- Cable type and voltage rating (armoured or unarmoured).
- Actual cable diameter overall, and under armour (bedding).
- Size and type of armour.
- If earth bound attachment is required.
- Outer sheath diameter should be used for selecting gland size.
- Assistance on selection is available on request.
The Range
CCG A2 Compression Gland – for flexible Cable

CCG BW Corrosion Guard – for PVC SWA PVC Cable
Gland Description
- For use in highly corrosive or wet locations.
- Cable gland manufactured from high quality brass and nickel plated.
- The screw-on Corrosion Guard is manufactured from non-corrosive material
to protect the steel wire armour and metal parts of the gland.
- Corrosion Guard screws onto the gland body and seals over the outer sheath
of the cable - giving an IP68 seal.
- Complete with a brass locknut and polypropylene gasket.
CCG CW Captive Cone Gland – for PVC SWA PVC Cable
Gland Description
- For outdoor use.
- Two piece handling, no loose parts.
- Freely rotating captive cone, providing an armour clamp and earth bond
without twisting the steel wire armouring.
- By removing the outer nut and bushes, the inners of sizes 1 to 4 can be
used as metric reducers.
- Provides a seal on the outer sheath of the cable - sealing to IP66.
- Also available in aluminium on request.

CCG Adaptors PG threads (DIN
German Standards)
- Because electric apparatus could generate from overseas countries, various
foreign threads are encountered.
- It is, therefore, necessary to fit such threads with the appropriate adaptor.
- Although glands can be manufactured with special threads, it still leads to
the problem - that if the gland is replaced at a later stage, the problem with
the foreign thread entry remains.
- An adaptor, however, can stay permanently in place.
- Equipment originating in Germany, Switzerland, and most European countries is
supplied with a PG thread.
- The letters PG stand for "Panzerrohr Gewinde".
NPT Adaptors Ex – Type A and B B
NPT threads National Piper Taper (USA)
- Because electric apparatus could originate from overseas countries, various
foreign threads are encountered.
- Since the sizes 1/2"NPT-, 3/4" NPT-, 1"NPT, are close to I.S.O. metric
threads, it is easy to mistake them as such. An interface between NPT and metric
will, however, not form a flameproof path, and fitting a gland directly could
lead to disaster.
